The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) have demanded the immediate withdrawal of the recent ban on knit fabric imports. The trade bodies warned that these restrictions could severely disrupt the operations of export-oriented factories. Furthermore, they expressed concern that the move might undermine the global competitiveness of Bangladesh's apparel sector.
