A significant backlog of litigation involving imported goods at Chattogram Customs has resulted in Tk2,661 crore of revenue remaining trapped. The issue has been compounded by 656 new cases filed in the 2025-26 fiscal year alone, which involve a total of Tk1,094.87 crore.
