Lack of effective field-level preparation despite disaster warnings

As of Monday afternoon, 54 people have lost their lives due to floods and natural disasters across seven districts. According to reports published in Dhaka-based newspapers, the authorities had received prior warnings about the disasters, yet effective preparations were not implemented on the ground. Additionally, the poor state of Dhaka's drainage system has been highlighted as a primary cause for the persistent waterlogging in the city.
