Government aims for 20% electricity from renewables by 2030

The government has set a target to generate 20 percent of the country's total electricity from renewable sources by 2030.

The government has outlined a strategy to source 20 percent of its total electricity generation from renewable energy by 2030. According to the plan, rooftop solar installations are expected to provide 5,500 megawatts, while ground-mounted solar projects are projected to contribute 4,500 megawatts. Additionally, an estimated 450 to 550 megawatts are expected to be generated through wind power, waste-to-energy initiatives, hydropower, floating solar, and agrivoltaic technologies.
