The government is bracing for a significant maturity pressure of Tk2.84 lakh crore in government securities (G-Sec) during the 2027 fiscal year. According to data from TBS Bangladesh, this total includes Tk1,94,326 crore in Treasury bills and Tk71,961 crore in Treasury bonds. The rising volume of government borrowing has contributed to this substantial repayment obligation.
