Twenty-seven members of the 'Chhoto Jahangir Bahini,' one of the largest pirate gangs operating in the Sundarbans, have surrendered. The group had been involved in long-standing criminal activities, including robbery, the kidnapping of fishermen and woodcutters, and extortion. During the surrender, the members also turned over their weapons.
