In a historic achievement, two Chinese-born mathematicians, 37-year-old Yu Deng and 35-year-old Hong Wang, have been awarded the Fields Medal. They share the honor with John Pardon from the United States and Jacob Tsimerman from Canada. Each of the four recipients was awarded 15,000 Canadian dollars.
