Low yields and high production costs hinder Bangladesh tea exports

Although overall tea production in Bangladesh has maintained an upward trend, the growth has not translated into increased export earnings. According to a report by TBS Bangladesh, low yields per hectare combined with high production costs per kilogram have weakened the country's competitiveness in the international market.
