Bhutan has officially nominated Dasho Sonam Topgay to lead the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). This nomination comes as the current Secretary General, Md Golam Sarwar of Bangladesh, nears the conclusion of his three-year tenure. The regional organization remains in a state of prolonged deadlock, with its summit meetings stalled for the past decade.
