Foreign-flagged vessels handle 89% of Chittagong Port imports

Data indicates that 89% of import cargo at Chittagong Port is transported via foreign-flagged vessels. Furthermore, during the first half of 2026, these foreign ships accounted for 84% of export cargo transportation and 91% of empty export container movements, according to reports from TBS Bangladesh.
