The government has officially approved proposals to import 150,000 tonnes of MOP fertiliser sourced from Canada and Russia. The decision was finalised by the cabinet committee on government purchases.
In addition to the fertiliser procurement, the committee approved the purchase of one cargo of LNG from Qatar. This shipment will be acquired at a price $0.10 per MMBtu below the Japan Korea Marker (JKM) benchmark. Furthermore, the procurement of one crore jute sacks for the Directorate General of Food has also been authorised.
