Government reduces OMS rice and flour allocation to adjust safety net spending

To adjust expenditures within social safety net programs, the government has reduced the allocation for the Open Market Sale (OMS) of rice and flour. According to data from TBS Bangladesh, the government sold 304,000 tonnes of rice and 449,000 tonnes of flour during the 2026 fiscal year.
