India's food safety regulator has reaffirmed its position regarding the regulation of energy drinks, despite opposition from major industry players including Pepsi, Red Bull, and Monster. In early July, the regulator announced via social media that it had issued formal notices to these companies.
The authority stated that there are currently no established Indian standards for such products. Furthermore, the regulator has labeled claims suggesting that these beverages can "vitalise body and mind" or "aid in general weakness" as misleading.
