APM Terminals has officially unveiled the layout for its $550 million Laldia terminal project. Upon completion, the facility is set to become the first container terminal in Bangladesh to be fully funded by foreign investment.
The terminal is designed to manage an annual capacity of over 800,000 TEUs. This development is projected to boost the container handling capacity of Chattogram Port by approximately 23%. Officials anticipate that the new terminal will significantly alleviate port congestion, enhance operational efficiency, and contribute to lowering the overall cost of doing business. Construction is slated to begin in December.
