Approximately 200 BATB workers and union leaders have staged a protest demanding permanent job status and the abolition of the contract-based hiring system.

Around 200 employees and leaders of the Labour Welfare Union gathered to demand the regularization of their jobs and the termination of the existing contract system at British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB).

The participants, which included office staff and field technicians from the Chechua, Allahar Dargah, Meherpur, and Chuadanga leaf regions, voiced their demands for better job security.
