The Secretary General of Bimstec has remarked that drawing comparisons between Bimstec and Saarc is misleading and harmful to the interests of the organization. He highlighted that since its inception in 1997, the group has achieved substantial institutional progress. Furthermore, he noted that Bimstec is well-positioned to become a prominent regional entity within the Indo-Pacific region.
