State Minister Razib Ahsan has issued directives to the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) to intensify its revenue collection efforts and upgrade the quality of services provided at river ports.
During his instructions, the State Minister highlighted several key areas for improvement, including:
- Implementing phased automation for cargo loading and unloading operations at river ports.
- Strengthening coordination with relevant stakeholders to enhance vessel safety.
- Identifying new revenue streams specifically for the Port Division.
