The government is drafting amendments to the Companies Act to make beneficial ownership disclosure mandatory, while proposing a reduction in minimum paid-up capital for one-person companies.

The government has initiated moves to amend the Companies Act, proposing that the disclosure of beneficial ownership be made mandatory for companies.
In an effort to support small businesses, the draft also suggests lowering the minimum paid-up capital requirement for one-person companies (OPCs) from Tk25 lakh to Tk5 lakh.
