Following the ousting of Argentine President Juan Peron, the body of First Lady Eva Peron was stolen. The remains traveled through various parts of Argentina and were even buried in Italy for a period. Although the body was eventually transferred to her exiled husband in Spain, it took a total of 16 years before she was finally laid to rest in her home country.
