The price of malta has surged to Tk550 per kilogram in Chittagong. According to traders, while the daily national demand for the fruit stands at approximately 15 to 20 containers, only six to seven containers have been reaching the market daily over the past 10 to 15 days. Despite higher import volumes, the current supply deficit has led to this significant price hike.
