To address its electricity needs, the Vatican has announced plans for a solar and agricultural plant. The project is set to be located at the 450-hectare Santa Maria di Galeria site on the northwestern outskirts of Rome. This location has served as the base for Vatican Radio's transmission facilities since the 1950s.
